Memorial Day 2009 - May 23 - 27

What an awesome weekend!!! I have said for years that I would never go to the Outer Banks for memorial day weekend because I do not traipse around in a bathing suit in an attempt to pick up guys. With that being said, Charlene called about a week before and asked if she found us a place to stay if I would be willing to go. . .I gave in. For $135 we had a place to stay for a week and food for 4 days, it doesn't get much better than that. So we went shopping on Friday and were off on Saturday. We left pretty early, got down there without a problem. I was shocked to see SO MANY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! it was absolutely insane. Literally hundreds and hundreds of people, all on one little tiny bit of beach, You could go anywhere north or south of where we were and have the whole beach to yourself, there were so many young single adults.

The whole weekend was fun, we burnt to a crisp on Saturday, had a sand castle building contest, went to karaoke, attended an extremely crowded sacrament meeting (there were chairs set up EVERYWHERE, they borrow them from the school apparently, lining the halls, in the classrooms, in the kitchen, everywhere). We relaxed the rest of Sunday, had some people from Atlanta over to play games that evening, it was really fun to just kick back and not care what people thought. Monday and Tuesday were much of the same with a little bit of biking thrown in there, going to see the WILD HORSES (probably my favorite part), and a bbq with another house from our ward. Time spent with Char was awesome, she is such a cool girl and I am so grateful she asked me to go with her!!!

The House we stayed in, there were only 15 of us
(a lot of houses had 20-30) so each one of us had a bed!!!

The masses at Karaoke.
They opened the place up just for us that night,
and I would like to say that it paid off.

Michelle Killian and I on Monday morning
when we went to go see the sunrise
