Army v. Rutgers

I love college football. Attending BYU games while I was a student was honestly one of the highlights of college for me.

2003 - Freshman Year

2005 - Sophomore Year

2006 - Junior Year

2007 - Senior Year

2009 - First return back to a college game after BYU

Erin and I had a great time with the girls despite the fact that
  1. the game was a Friday night game rather than a saturday afternoon game, which is what we thought when we bought the tickets,
  2. Tom could not sit with us because he was asked to accompany a General
  3. It was freezing
  4. It rained - luckily our seats were on the first row underneath the overhang - I am pretty sure we moved up an extra row... luckily no one yelled at us.
i realized it was not so much the football that I loved, though I do love it, it is the atmosphere, the camaraderie if you will. BYU games were very different than the Army game. A prayer was said before the game (yes, you heard me right, one of my favorite things about BYU in general), the ENTIRE arena would be cheering the same thing, there would be songs and dancing, competitions over which section could scream B, Y, U or COUGARS loudest, it was feeling a part of something bigger than myself.

Weird to think that that time in my life is over, but I do look back and reminisce with gladness, remembering the hot/bright sun, the freezing rain/snow, late night games, and memories that were made during those blessed BYU Cougar football games.

Thanks Tommy for bringing us yummy popcorn from the special persons box!! Thank you Nin for loving me enough to take me to a game with you!!! I had a blast and am so glad I got to be with you and the girls!
