Survived. . .. and thank you!

Well I survived the Annual Washington D.C. 2nd Ward Christmas party & sign up for the Candlelight Tour of Mount Vernon. Don't read any further if you are not interested in the details of the weekend, I am mostly writing this for myself:

Friday Night
  • left work at 3:50p for a work holiday gathering at 4p
  • did nothing at said holiday party, left at 6:30p
  • remembered I had not made 121 vouchers for the sign up for the candlelight tour
  • called Jordan told her I was going back to work
  • she forbade me
  • got home
  • jordan, mom and dad got home from a scrumptious dinner (read: i should have skipped said work holiday party)
  • jordan made my vouchers, she is a saint
  • went to kinkos, had vouchers printed on red cardstock
  • jordan cut vouchers loverly
  • went to shoppers for sunday dinner necessities
  • realized i had not printed the actual sign ups with peoples names on them so i had to do that
  • finally got to bed around midnight

Saturay

  • got up around 9a - felt GREAT!
  • got my bed made, room cleaned and was talking with jordan
  • Jordan & I met up with Rowz at Starbucks for some yummy treats
  • got home about 11:30
  • cleaned up the leaves from my parents yard for about an hour
  • realized i had 15 minutes to get ready
  • finally got in the car and got to the church
  • apparently only one other person was asked to come help set up so jordan, tom, allison and i set up seating for 200 people
  • the only thing tom cared about all day was that there were not centerpieces on the long tables, i could not care any less so i bagged them
  • jordan noticed that the sign-ups i printed off were not the ones in alphabetical order, thanks lauren for being so unbeliveably UNHELPFUL!!!
  • got all the food prepped and ready (thanks chicken out)
  • had to tell 3 people that had signed up and paid that they had to wait until everyone else had tickets because they were too old to be in our ward (awkward, and a job i pawned off on someone else, however, they did not follow-through on that one)
  • got to eat some YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY mashed potatoes
  • organized about 25 drivers
  • realized we probably only needed about 7 of those drivers, man it would be nice to have ANY idea how many people had planned their own rides!!!!!!!!!!
  • kicked everyone out the door
  • got cleaned up
  • headed north to Columbia to watch Erin & Tom's kidos

more happened after that & it was all pretty fun and exciting but at that moment NOTHING compared to the feeling of having it over and the gratitude I felt for JORDAN. She went way above and way beyond everything I could have asked for. It honestly would not have gotten done without her, so sister, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that McDonalds I bought you doesn't really express my gratitude but please know that it meant the world to me. With help I can do hard things.

Now i have to come up with all the activities for 2009 by Sunday. it starts again!!!!

I am so glad that you survived and that you had such a good helper! Hopefully your next activity will be WAY less stress!
