someone finally believed me!!

I did it!! I finally found a doctor who was willing to take me seriously!! Since I was in high school I have had bad ankles. This summer things got really bad and I was spraining my left ankle at least twice a month. Often times I could just walk it off but it still hurt. Well, I am taking an athletic training class and my teacher is really nice. In class on Wednesday he was doing some tests to show us how he could tell how bad old sprains were. After class I asked him if he would mind taking a look at my ankles. He did. He told me to go find a doctor to look at them because they invert really far. I made an appointment with a Sports Medicine doctor and I had that appointment this morning. It was GREAT! He was super nice and explained everything he was doing to me. It's cool because when he uses anatomical terms I actually know what he is saying. Anyways, they took 4 xrays of each ankle and he concluded that I have a lot of joint instability, especially in my left ankle. He told me that he wants me to try physical therapy for four weeks and then come back and see him. He had me schedule my follow-up appointment on a day when the ankle specialist would be in the office with him in case the PT didn't work we could talk with the ankle specialist about a procedure that could be done to tighten my ligaments to make my joint more stable.
It feels so nice to finally find a doctor who does not just tell me to take it easy, pop pills, and stay off of it. He is very proactive and eager to help me. Just thought i'd share! PT starts on Tuesday and I am very excited! Also, I took my first test this past wednesday and it went very well! I have another on Monday so we'll see how that one goes. Love everywhere!

Lauren, that is great news!! I think that someone should do a study of the Schroeder-Cahoon feet...we could probably make it into a text book!

okay...that was actually me that said that! But I'm sure Bryce would agree.

I am so happy to hear that they are doing something to help. I know it's so hard when you don't even know what's wrong with your body. Yay Loli

A good orthopedist is a real crowd pleaser. I am hopeful he can get your game back.

Also, glad you have working technology once again.
